Cultivating Community through Storytelling

At Blossoming Ninos, the core of our philosophy rests in cultivating community with children, families, educators and more than human others. This project, generously funded by the VRA Learning Journey Grant, facilitated our interest in exploring community relations through acts of storytelling. Our story begins with children and educators crafting narrations with our indoor forest and is extended in collaboration with families, through a field trip to the Vancouver Art Gallery and visits to our local forest. Materials also stirred our imaginations as fabrics, clay, and paint enlivened our stories while simultaneously nourishing our collective well-being.
